Water and Development Congress & Exhibition 2025

The International Water Association (IWA), in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), proudly presents the IWA Water and Development Congress & Exhibition 2025, to be held from 8–12 December 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand.

Now in its eighth edition, this flagship biennial event will bring together over 3,000 water professionals from more than 80 countries, including practitioners, policy makers, researchers, utility managers, consultants, and technology providers. The event will serve as a global platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and showcasing innovative solutions in water and sanitation.

Under the theme “Water, sanitation, and innovation – pathways to progress and a resilient future”, the Congress will feature a dynamic programme comprising keynotes, technical sessions, workshops, business forums, technical tours, and a world-class exhibition.

Participants will explore critical topics such as 24/7 water supply, climate-resilient systems, circular economy, digital technologies, nature-based solutions, and inclusive sanitation. Thematic tracks will focus on safe drinking water, sustainable wastewater treatment, smart water management, utility operations, and governance for long-term development.

With rapid urbanisation and growing investments in water infrastructure, particularly in the Global South and Asia, this event offers a timely opportunity to shape the future of water and sanitation through innovation and collaboration. Set in the heart of Bangkok, one of Asia’s most dynamic cities, the Congress is poised to spotlight regional challenges and solutions, while fostering global dialogue toward a more sustainable and resilient water future.
