The FDI 2015 Annual World Dental Congress (FDI 2015 Bangkok) is proof that Thailand never stops enhancing its profile in hosting medical congresses of a global standard. With the exhibition occupying a total space of 10,000 sqm, showcasing the latest development in dental care and treatment, it is recorded as one of the largest exhibitions ever in the history of international dental congresses.
FDI 2015 Bangkok attracted more than 14,000 participants over the four-day event hosted at International Trade & Exhibition Center (BITEC) in Bangkok. This included delegates and exhibition visitors from over 130 countries, dental trade exhibitors, and over 220 companies from 14 countries.
Featuring the local excellence through a showcase of their new Thai-manufactured dental chair for the elderly and disabled, the Thai dental industry also played a key role at FDI 2015 Bangkok. They designed the chair to address the limited mobility of the patients, which attracted a lot of international interest with offers to distribute. This makes clear the capability of the Thai dental industry to make a contribution to the international dental care development.
Dr. Adirek S. Wongsa, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of FDI 2015 Bangkok, which was supported by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), stated that this congress is the world’s foremost international dental congress. The Federation Dentaire Internationale (FDI) has been established since 1900, and represents more than 1 million dentists worldwide with memberships comprising some 200 national dental associations.
FDI expressed their gratification towards the overall outcome of the congress, while exhibitors also showed satisfaction towards the large number of visitors and the local organising committee from the Thai Dental Association, in managing the venue and event, reception and facilities, and particularly the security provided by the Thai government.
It was a shining collaboration from the dedicated team of Thai Local Organizing Committee from Dental Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, with strong support from Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau and alliances, that provided a value-for-money outing for delegates. With a variety of accommodation in Bangkok to suit all budgets, world-renowned Thai cuisine, convenient transportation with the mass transit system, and large meeting facilities with world-class service and hospitality of the local Thai people, that were important elements in playing a vital role of creating the success for FDI 2015 Bangkok.
