Bangkok Entertainment Fest

The government joins hands with the private sector to launch ‘Bangkok Entertainment Fest’ - a broad-spectrum events show that aims to promote Bangkok as a hub to the entertainment business in ASEAN. With the digital content industry booming, the festival will sound the horn as a rallying call.

‘Bangkok Entertainment Fest’ is a product of the coordination between public sectors such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Information, Communication, and Technology, Ministry of Culture, Department of International Trade Promotion, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), and the private sectors.

The stage is set not only for an incredible performance, but also as an exchange of academic knowledge and creative stimulation. Thailand recognises the growth of the digital economy, and sees the potential to be itself, a leading incubator and hub to generate sustainable creation of economic and commercial values, not only domestically, but for ASEAN as well.

‘Bangkok Entertainment Fest’ will run from March till May every year, pitching itself along the BTS routes, and will consist of four events.

Bangkok Comic Con x Anime Festival Asia Thailand will be held at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC). Featuring top pop culture from Hollywood and Japan combined under one roof, this event is considered the grandest in Asia.

Thailand Comic Con will open at Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon. Boasting the most comprehensive contents from pop culture, including movies, animations, dramas, music, games, toys, and collectible items, the show will also see demonstrations from manufacturers and entrepreneurs, with displays of special products.

Thailand Toy Expo will be held at Central World Shopping Center. With more than 70 popular brands of toys and collectible items from the United States, Europe, and Asia, including limited runs, visitors can enjoy a colourful display with engaging content.

The three months will add extra buzz to Bangkok’s already-vibrant scenes, and nurture creative growth in the digital content segment.
