TCEB Announces “Thailand MICE Review Competition” Winner and 1.3 Million Worldwide Views

In October 2013, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s (TCEB)’s online campaign, the “Thailand MICE Review Competition,” generated an overwhelming response of almost 100 applicants from 20 countries.


Five finalists were eventually chosen based on TCEB’s judging criteria, namely: extensive working / blogging experience plus in-depth knowledge about the MICE industry. They went on to compete and win the competition during the inspection of one chosen MICE city each during a 1-week stay in Thailand, followed by a month to actively promote their blogs.


We are pleased to announce that the winner of the “Thailand MICE Review Competition,” receiving the highest number views, is Mr. Nugyen Doc Hoang from Vietnam, promoting Khon Kaen city with 612,762 views. He will receive a cash award of 5,000 USD.


The “blog with the best content” goes to Mr. Robert Schrader from the USA who promoted Bangkok, and he will collect a cash award of 3,000 USD.

Mr. Nugyen Doc Hoang, a MICE Professional who works for the Hanoi Foreign Affairs Service Center, has been an organizer for meetings, conferences, business forums, fairs & exhibition, and other events around the world. Recently, in 2013, he brought trade delegates from Vietnam to Thailand every month.

As for Mr. Schrader, his experiences is in writing a popular travel blog, leaveyourdailyhell.com, the #10 travel blog in the world by traffic, reaching more than 50,000 travelers per month. He has worked with brands as large as Visit Norway, Expedia and Contiki, and has been featured in major publications such as The Sydney Morning Herald, CNN and The Huffington Post.


TCEB Information Technology Director Sarita Chintakanond stated, “‘Thailand MICE Review Competition has successfully accomplished its aim to showcase the capability and readiness of 5 MICE cities (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Khon Kaen and Phuket) in Thailand with 1.3 million views.  Furthermore, all the finalists have shared their lived experiences in these cities, which will enhance the reputation of Thailand and inspire MICE professionals worldwide to plan their next business event in Thailand.”
