Guidelines for Organising MICE Events During the Period of National Mourning Following the Passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, on 30 October 2025

To ensure that MICE events (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) proceed smoothly and appropriately, and in a manner that demonstrates respect for the national mourning period, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organization), or TCEB, requests the co-operation of all relevant agencies and event organisers in considering the implementation of the following recommended guidelines:

1. Submission of Participant Information

Event organisers are requested to provide participant information, specifying domestic and international attendees, to relevant local authorities, so that they can appropriately provide guidance and support for each group.

2. Observance of Mourning Before the Event

Event organisers are encouraged to invite participants to observe a one-minute moment of silence before the opening ceremony or main activities, in remembrance of Her Majesty’s boundless grace and benevolence.

3. Adapting the Event Format to Fit the Mourning Atmosphere

Event organisers are encouraged to adjust the event’s format and atmosphere appropriately, for example, by using subdued colour tones in decorations, choosing suitable background music or sounds, and avoiding festive displays or activities that may be inappropriate for the national mourning atmosphere.

4. Participant Attire

Participants are encouraged to wear black or other subdued colours. If this is not possible, they should wear a black ribbon in a visible position to demonstrate respect and observance of the mourning period.

5. Coordination with Local Authorities

Event organisers are requested to co-ordinate with local government offices, such as provincial or municipal authorities, to ensure consistent operational procedures and to provide participants with accurate and timely information.

6. Communication and Public Information

When broadcasting or publishing coverage of the event, organisers should ensure that visuals, captions, and promotional materials reflect the respectful nature of the mourning period, with messages of condolence from the organising agency conveyed respectfully and appropriately.

Remarks

TCEB kindly requests the co-operation of all MICE event organisers in following these guidelines in remembrance of and with deep respect for Her Majesty’s boundless grace and benevolence. TCEB will promptly inform all relevant parties should any additional announcements be issued by the authorities.
