TCEB Announcement Regarding National Mourning 28 October 2025

The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) wishes to inform all partners, organisers, and stakeholders in the business events industry that, following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, on 24 October 2025, the Royal Thai Government has announced that holding events in Thailand is not prohibited.

However, the Government has requested that all events be conducted in a manner proper to the national atmosphere of mourning. Entertainment components of scheduled events should be adjusted or moderated to honor the great loss of the nation.

The Government recognizes that many activities within the entertainment, tourism, and service sectors may have been planned in advance. Organisers are therefore urged to exercise discretion and make appropriate adjustments so that their events reflect the nation’s mourning and pay due respect to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.

All government officials are required to wear mourning attire for one-year period, effective 25 October 2025. Ordinary citizens are requested to do so for 90 days, or dress in a manner suitable to the mourning period.

Furthermore, national flags at government offices and educational institutions are flown half-mast for 30 days, starting 25 October 2025.

TCEB expresses its profound sorrow at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, and joins the Thai people in honoring Her Majesty’s lifelong dedication, benevolence and devotion to the nation.
