A Success Case of Government Link to A Success Story of InfoComm

With the mission to leverage Thailand’s exhibition industry and position itself as an exhibition platform of ASEAN, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) position itself as a co-creator and collaborator to become an exhibition true partner. The effort turned out into a success case of TCEB’s government linkage programme to a success story of the recently new show in Thailand, InfoComm SEA, an ASEAN chapter of the world’s biggest AV Solution show based in the United State.

Thanks to a government linkage offered by TCEB, InfoComm SEA recently made a strong debut with its first ASEAN version in Thailand with 7,743 visitors who were delighted at the quality showcase of the latest Professional AudioVisual (Pro-AV) innovations, and 152 exhibitors who made new in-roads into the burgeoning Southeast Asian market.

Kanokporn Damrongkul, Director of Exhibition, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau revealed that, “InfoComm Southeast Asia is a success case  from  government linkage. TCEB is a crucial partner helping InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd organize the show in Thailand by acting as a co-creator and collaborator to link the organizer and the Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) that supervises the audiovisual industry.”

Before the selection of Thailand as the venue for the Southeast Asian show, TCEB arranged a site inspection programme to present Thailand’s readiness for the organization. In addition, TCEB provide a full support both financial and non-financial subsidy to secure more success to the show. Exhibiz in Market campaign offered support and brought InfoComm to set up its booth in the Singapore Pavilion at international trade shows in Thailand.

David Lim, Senior Director InfoComm Asia Pte Ltd disclosed that “In terms of support that we are getting from TCEB, which is a Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, I think from TCEB initiatives it has been very helpful in terms of attracting organizers from the event industry to run an exhibition here, both financially and in terms of guidance they provide, in terms of giving reference and recommendations to event managers, contractors, manpower, temp staff, agencies. It’s been very good “

“We also introduced the international organizer to local partners and the result is the first regional platform for businesses around Southeast Asia to experience the latest advances in audiovisual solutions and realize how they can be applied to enhance communications, collaborations and operations,” Ms. Kanokporn said.

In the event, TCEB boosted up business matching onsite by inviting visitors to events from Malaysia to InfoComm Southeast Asia for business negotiations. The invitation was part of TCEB’s ASEAN+6 Privilege campaign. InfoComm Southeast Asia brought around 1,000 exhibitor participants from over 150 exhibiting companies and drew about 1,600 visitor participants in Thailand.
