Ban Sawathi is a village with its own traditional performance group or mor lam that was founded several decades ago and Wat Chaisi which dates over 20 years old and is the heart of this community. The highlight of the temple is its architecture and wall paintings that tell the story of the local folklore known as Sinsai which inspired the students at Ban Sawathi School to practice the art of singing mor lam and telling the Sinsai story in order to preserve this traditional performance while also keeping the community’s history and culture alive.
