Future Automotive

Practically all of the world’s major automakers and auto parts manufacturers have a presence in Thailand, and it’s no wonder: the strategic location and ease of doing business makes it a prime base location.

The ASEAN region’s second biggest economy has the largest vehicle-assembling capacity as well, and low tariffs have prompted a surge in exports. Thailand ships vehicles to 130 countries worldwide.

Locally, the Thai Auto Parts Manufacturers Association boasts of 400+ members producing an array of components. But additionally, many of the 3,000 parts used in assembling your average vehicle are also sourced from abroad, which is an opportunity for even more foreign suppliers to do business in Thailand.

Not only are manufacturing and assembly key components of Thailand’s automotive space, foreign car companies are investing in technical and R&D facilities as well. It’s an innovative industry too: in 2009, Toyota started production of hybrid vehicles in Thailand in a natural gas-fuelled factory, the first of its kind in ASEAN.

And with roughly 1,800 parts suppliers and 300,000 employed workers – resulting in 1.8 million vehicles assembled in 2012 – Thailand’s auto industry extends far, domestically and internationally. This fact is not lost on convention and exhibition planners who seek locations that are favourable to their line of business. So when you consider Thailand’s variety of activities and attractions, as well as flexible and friendly environment, it stands out as a premier destination for business events.

The friendly welcome carries over to trade shows, and the well-established infrastructure means your event will be immersed in a place that knows and respects your industry, and can accommodate your needs. Your show could join the likes of Fastener Fair 2013, Intermach 2013, InterMold Thailand 2013, and Metalex 2013; to name a few auto-industry events that have recently chosen Thailand.
